Dear forum members,
Unfortunately, the electric handbrake system of my car has broken down. I would like to replace it, but the new part does not include the long wire for the manual release. Can it be refitted from the old one, or will it not be possible to release the brake manually?
original my brake. PSA 9874350580
A wire used for manual release, nearly 3 meters long.
Only a small stub is visible on the new brake system. Peugeot 508 9810501780 Based on car type and chassis number, this is the only one in the catalog. They all look like this, for Citroen C5 Peugeot 508 cars.
Does anyone know why this discrepancy occurs and how to fix it? Many thanks for your help.

Re: Peugeot 508I 2.2 GT SW parking brake fault
Here is a link to a query thread on another forum which includes a link to the Peugeot Service sheet for the handbrake. It seems that the cables are an integral part of the unit and cannot be replaced separately, have a read and see if it helps. Good luck
