Hi guys,
I have posted previously regarding a failing alternater on my 05 petrol Berlingo multispace. Having been advised to check connectors etc, there seems to be a problem with the wiring going into the plug that connects to the alternater. There is a thin red wire and just the stub of a green wire the rest of which seems to be missing. It looks like it has snapped or been burned off. Is it possible to replace the connector plug to the alternator? Is it something An amateur tinkerer could do?
Thanks in advance.
Tony

Re: 1.6 petrol Multispace alternator wire.
It is normal that the wire is as you described. It is smart alternator with 1 wire Lin bus control. You can unplug the connector and see if it starts charging in limp mode but it will probably throw up y fault code for no communication.
