Berlingo K9 gearbox locked

Hi.

My 2019 Berlingo has had a few problems recently which I would like to get sorted out. One of the problems is that it is now stuck in gear and I cannot select neutral. It is the EAT8 auto gearbox. This will make it hard to be recovered to my preferred garage.

Is there an easy way of unlocking the gearbox or do I have it dragged onto the recovery truck?

Can you clarify what you mean by locked in gear?
Is it that the gear lever doesn't move (if so, which position is it in?), or is it that the vehicle doesn't change gear when moving?

A decent recovery operator should have slippery Jims they can put under the drive wheels to load & unload.
Dragging a vehicle with the transmission locked in gear could be a really bad idea.

Currently, when the ignition is on and the gear selector is rotated to 'N', nothing happens. I have found a way on line of disabling the auto-braking system by holding the manual parking button down , then lifting it up. It states 'start the engine'. Unfortunately it kind of cranks but will not start. I have not had time to play with the car because it is at my brothers and I would like to get it recovered closer to home.

Will the autobraking regime work with just the ignition on so at least I can make it easier for the recovery company?

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this?

My 2020 did exactly the same last week with the box locked but the engine cranking perfectly, two recovery agents couldn’t unlock or start the engine. Recovered to garage who subsequently unlocked the auto but couldn’t find anything wrong with it?
