Hi I am new to this forum so first want to say hello .

Secondly I am asking for help.

My car suffer faulty rear window heating and hands free tailgate not working .

I have try everything I could by my self and the tailgate still only working from my key button or the button on the tailgate but still not working by waving with my legs. Also I have notice that my rear window heating is not working not sure if it's not connected.

I have checked the bsi configuration and noticed that function that I have in my car was showing absent so I was thinking that's why tailgate is not working so I have change some function I believe I got to present. Everything working as it was before (except the tailgate hands free access and rear window heating) but I got fault saying wrong configuration (only visible when connect diagnostic tool). I don't remember exactly wich function I have change to present and not sure if I should try one by one or maybe I could get a list of configuration for my car by VIN . Any one could help ?.

Possibly your car was never fitted with hands free access for the tailgate so may not have the equipment to do it.

Have you checked for voltage at the window heater and also the wiring between the tailgate and body for damage ?

Yes, because it was working when I bought the car, so I definitely have a hands-free tailgate. I don't see any damage to the cables, unless they're in the plastic tubes. Both of them stopped working after a small incident, the guy hit me lightly in the rear bumper and I had it fix.

But I'm pretty sure it worked after the repair 99%, because I checked it when I picked up the car.
So either the garage that fixed did not connect the cable somewhere properly and it disconnect when i was driving or it's something else. Maybe there's a fuse for both?

Where i need to measure voltage ?

The window heater would need to be checked at the window end for voltage and if not there then work backwards into the car.

We have a Skoda with tailgate hands free access but it can be switched off in the touch screen - this is recommended in the handbook if the car is being washed or other things. This might be possible on your car so something to check.

Since you have not found anything obvious with the tailgate I would take it back to the repairer since you will have a guarantee of their work.

Its 3 years now since they repair it, not sure if they believes me that i just not found time to visit them early (but that is true ). I have just ignore it all that time .

If it was repaired under your insurance using their repairer and you have the same insurer now, they often guarantee repairs for as long as you keep the car. Whether this would apply to something electrical I do not know.
