Hello guys,
My transmission on my Saxo VTR recently gave out, and I have a TU9 or TU1 (it's either a 1.0L or 1.1L, I can't remember) with the transmission still lying around.
From what I can see, it looks like the transmission will fit just fine, but I can't seem to find any information on the torque figures these transmissions can handle...
Anyone got any ideas or experience with this?
Thanks!
Is a TU9/TU1 transmission strong enough for a TU5?

From memory the TU5 gearboxes including the diesels were stronger. I think it was the differential. Again though, I haven't touched one of these for 15 years!
They do just bolt right on though, and it was a common thing back in the day to use a 1.1 gearbox in place of a 1.6 16v gearbox as the ratios were the same, if not very similar. The 1.6 8v (vtr) gearbox had much longer gearing.
