2005 1.6 petrol Multispace alternator.
Hi all. My 05 1.6 petrol Berlingo Multispace seems to have a failing alternator. The battery runs down even afyer a full charge. Tried a new battery with the same result. After some time, the battery warning light comes on, then the car won't start. I wanted to ask advice on whether it's possible to do a DIY alternator swap on this model, or is it a garage job? Cheers.

Re: 2005 1.6 petrol Multispace alternator.
Use a volt meter to check the battery voltage, with the engine running it should be about 14 volts if the alternator is ok. Also check the alternator drive belt is in good condition and not slipping and its wiring/connectors are in good condition. After these checks then consider if the alternator is no good. If a garage can fit one then so can most competent diy people.
