Hopefully, A Less-Taxing Question Re My 306 Cabrio

They say that the "Third Time's the Charm", so I'm hoping for an answer to this question (Previous two generated a bunch of lookers, and not one reply).

My Cabrio has this lever on the outboard side of the Driver's seat (Yes, she's a right-hand driver--shouldn't make a difference). The photo shows the lever in it's extended position, as it's spring-loaded--probably to ease access and egress to the seat. I pulled it up into this position, and of course it doesn't go back to the original position----let me rephrase: It doesn't move at all out of this position.

So: 1. What is the purpose/function of this lever?
2. How does one get it to move?

I think the lever is a seat height adjuster, the handle should pull out, then you can mov it up and down. They are known to lose the internal screws, usually they go floppy if this happens and the seat springs up when you get out, but not beyond possibility that it's jammed the adjuster.

Thanks. You've given me a place to start. Going to go fiddle with it now. In the meantime, I could not, for the life of me, figure our how to attach the photo to the post. Just gave up on that.

To upload a picture:

Open the reply box. At the bottom click on the attachments tab, then click on the 'add files' button.

That will open a window of your desktop or file manager where you can select the picture file you want to upload.
Find and click on your picture file name and then click 'open' at the bottom,
Finally you can add a comment or title for your picture in the text box that opens and then go back to the main reply box and put your cursor where you want the picture to appear and then back in the 'attachments' tab click the 'place inline' button to the right of your file name.

It is much easier than it reads but give it a go!
