Hey! my car is 2006 C5 2 2.0 petrol (left hand steering)
Blower motor is acting weirdly for last year and now its silent.
First its makes rumbling like sound when switching from off to any speed. And any change to speed takes 2 second to take any effect.
Now after replacing ac hp line and took it mechanic to refill the ac, it hasnt started spinning. It was working just fine until AC refill.
You can feel cool air coming from vent but blower motor isnt responding.
Fuses are fine, and there is current coming to motor (13.6v).
Any good suggestions before im removing whole dashboard?

Re: Blower motor acts weird
Possibly motor bearing failure. I'm not 100% sure but does the fan draw-in damp air before any filters, from below the windscreen? This damp air will then condensate and eventually seep down into the bearings.

Motor will spin for 2 second at first start in morning and after that nothing. It sounds normal so i dont think its bearings.
Also i couldnt locate where the resistor is, so cant check on that.

It's a thyristor pack rather than a traditional resistor bank, on the digitally controlled C5 climate systems.Slernu wrote: 23 May 2025, 09:08 Motor will spin for 2 second at first start in morning and after that nothing. It sounds normal so i dont think its bearings.

It's located in the centre section of the dash, down in the footwells by the bulkhead (not sure which side it would be on yours) - remove the trim panel under there and you should be able to see it.

I don't have any access to specific documents or diagrams to confirm exactly for your vehicle, but for mk1/2 C5's *with the digital climate control* they typically look like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163218742691
The metal heat sink is buried inside the airbox (so air is blown over it as cooling) while the black portion with the two plugs is the visible part located outside.
EDIT: this thread covers both types that might be fitted to mk2 C5's
