Eolys / Ad Blue Problem - Maybe?

Unread post by MarkD3019 »

A couple of weeks ago after filling with Diesel as I drove off the forecourt. My 67 Plate Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDi flashed a Check engine message which now comes up every time i start the vehicle. There is just the service spanner that is on permanent display but not the engine warning light. I had a cheap odb reader that didn't display any faults but decided to buy a better one. Anyway I got a carpal and it generated 2 "permanent" codes. P144621 - Additive adding - calculated additive level below the critical threshold and P15B300 - Additive adding calculated additive below the minimum threshold. This seems to indicate Eolys Fluid but I've also noticed I've not had to add any Ad Blue in a long time so wondering if it could be either or? I did have the Ad Blue Injector replaced 12 months ago. Is topping up Eolys an easy job and I've had a quote this morning for £250?

Toping up Eolys is not too difficult, I have only done the tanks but not the pouches, It usually comes as a kit with tubes and overflow bottle. When it is full you need someone with diagbox to tell ECU, You need to reset the counter to zero. There is also different types of Eolys, Admin on here should be able to advise from your VIN and colour of connectors on Eolys tank.
Thanx to all the admins & knowledgeable people that make this the best forum on the interweb. BUT COME BACK MARC , We miss you! =D> =D> =D>

How many miles has it done ?
Our cars with Adblue use about 1 to 1½ litres per 1000 miles so this might give you an idea if you need to top up if you know how much you last put in. When you do top up, on here it is recommended to use Wynn's Adblue crystal clean and protect to help avoid injector problems. We were at our Peugeot dealer today and I overheard an Adblue crystallisation problem and a new tank/injector was being mentioned as well as making a claim. I did not hear anything about the cost but it could be around £1k so the small cost of around £10 for the Wynn's is worth it.
