C1 Power Steering

Unread post by sparkyatoz »

Hi all,
I've got a friends C1 (2013) sitting on my drive with a EPS fault and P/S light ominously illuminated.
It came on following my changing a faulty indicator stalk. This required removal of the steering wheel, airbag squib and all the connectors...etc.
The stalk was fixed, and everything went back into place successfully...well truthfully after I realised the VSP connector wasn't connected properly (duh! #-o)...eventually there were no lights. Yippee I exclaimed!
I headed back to my friends house, made a short stop...then the P/S light came on...and it lost power steering.
With arms aching from wrestling with the steering, I eventually got back to my drive. I tried to reset the SAS torque using my very basic LAUNCH Creader CR129...but it advises that the C1 does not have that function...strange me thinks. Checked LAUNCH site indeed the function is not listed...whereas Aygo and 107 do.
Has anyone successfully reset SAS torque calibration on a C1?
I'm sure loads of you fellow C1 owners have had similar issues particularly with failing ECUs?
Any help...very much appreciated.
Best regards
Mark

Check the battery voltage in case it needs charging. You could also try a bsi reset. https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 51&t=61997

Many thanks Paul. I did try all this and to no avail. Sent to garage...hate having to admit failure! :-(
Think it might be P/S ECU. There's no clicking (as many C1 owners experience apparently) and no fault codes popping up on ODB reader.
Puzzling.
Anyways thanks again. Love that BSI reset procedure...reminded me of the oky koky.... put your left leg in, left leg out...then take away number you first thought of :-D
