Does this car have the 7mm chain?

Unread post by yejem51194 »

Description of issue

I drove my car for 2 miles, parked up, switched off car, then after 15 seconds tried to turn it back on to move a little more forward but it failed to turn on - it cranks but no start.

I've had it towed to local garage and they've so far 1. replaced camshaft sensor, 2. replaced crankshaft sensor, and 3. replaced timing belt and tensioner (because the timing was off). It still cranks but doesn't start and they say it needs an electrician because of the code P050B92.

My question: Does this car have the 7mm chain in the engine?

I'd appreciate any help how I can find out if it has the 7mm chain.

From what I have read, the 1.5 hdi did not get an 8 mm cam shaft chain until around 2023 so unless yours has been replaced, it will be 7 mm.

I would take the car to a Peugeot dealer rather than an electrician and if it has been dealer serviced and there is a problem with the chain, Peugeot might help financially.
