Hi, after replacement of rocker cover with gasket (today), a squealing / chirping noise is heard while engine is idling.
I found this post in the forum (to a Xantia) that had the exact same problem as I do. viewtopic.php?t=18264&start=15
They suggest it is blocked breather system.
Has anybody a drawing of the parts involved in the breather system for a C5 II 2005 2.0i 16V (EW10D/RLZ)?
Symptoms on my car:
squealing / chirping noise at idle
Taking off the oil filling cap, the noise is gone. Engine is "venting" through the cap hole. Cap back, the noise is back in 5-10 seconds.
I feel air pressure from rocker cover pipe when I remove the hose, and vacuum in the hose when removed from the cover.
Feel free to suggest other possible causes.
Thanks
Morten

I'm assuming this has been resolved by now, and betting it was the breather pipe?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Hi, it has not been resolved. The engine is working without any problems, so I just leave it until it becomes a problem. The noise is not loud so it is ok.
