Egr valve stuck,can't remove

Have a 2013 c4 picasso mk1 1.6hdi, have tried undoing 2 torx bolts and connector to remove, have tried tapping with wood on alloy body but won't budge, thinking of partially undoing bolts and turning engine to blow it out, any thoughts or ideas thanks

I found this very helpful when doing mine. Managed to snap the plastic rod;)

Lots of brake cleaner and repetitive pry bar work twisting and pulling.
Maybe worth checking live data first as my EGR problem turned out to be a short inside the connector plug...

Maybee a screw from underneath, Have a look with a torch and mirror

Diagbox showed valve stuck open , got it out with 2ft bar and lumphammer ,took ages to get a bit of movement and when it was loose was really hard to pull out , now mullered anyway so new one ordered.

Got new egr from ebay ,fitted it ,programmed with diagbox ,failed faulty egr ! Put old mullered one in that I had cleaned a bit, works no faults ! Trying to get refund now from ebay
