Hello ,
i have been recently presented with a new problem, on my Citroen C5, hope you can help me make sense of it.
A couple of days ago, the backlight on my dashboard and indicators started to go nuts. I have been observing it and so far this is what i know:
- in the morning, with the car turned off, if i turn on the presence lights with the handle, the backlight stays on for a couple a minutes, then shuts down
- same conditions as before, if i turn on the low beams with the handle, the backlight turns on and immediately turns off
-if i start the engine, keeping all headlights off, the backlight comes on and the indicators are visible (blinkers, warning and service light, etc), but only for a couple of minutes, and turns off again.
-driving on the road, sometimes, very rarely in fact, it comes on for a few seconds, then turns off again
-apart from the backlight and indicators (blinkers, warning and service light, high&low beams ), all the instruments work fine (speed, rpm, voltimeter, water temp, fuel, etc)
-all the lights that are controlled by the handle on the left of the steering wheel, are working fine (blinkers, high/low beams, fog light)
Other issues that may or may not be related:
- the auto light mode, controlled by the push button on the handle is not working
- the ac is not working, the control module has a damaged transistor, so i remove this module to sent to be repair at a shop
This is as far as i could investigate, i don't own a Lexia equipment , so i cant do any more diagnostics on this.
Have you guys ever came across a problem like this?
I appreciate any help you can provide, i am a bit at lost with this, and the car is due for inspection (MOT)...
