Well, it's as per the title really. It's a month now since the parts request thread was locked. I've read elsewhere that, if a business is looking to get access to the parts database, they have to have a VAT number. Is this true? If it is true, and we don't have a way of getting round this, then we need to make this knowledge well known as I'm sure some people will have joined the forum in the hope of getting a part number. Indeed, some may have given a donation in expectation of this service.
I have mused that this change in service might even have been a deciding factor in Marc's decision to withdraw from the forum.

Official Part Number Requests - are we likely to see this again?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

Re: Official Part Number Requests - are we likely to see this again?
The service that we provided to our members has been dependent on access to the PSA service database, for which we have been paying an annual subscription. Stellantis have now amalgamated their service data for all of their brands (PSA, Opel, Fiat, Chrysler etc.) and theoretically, our account and access should have rolled-over to the new system. Unfortunately, there were technical glitches which resulted in our account being stuck on the old system (which is now shut down), and we have been unable to obtain any meaningful support. We have also applied for a new account, but our application has been "pending review" for several weeks.
The frustration of this was certainly a factor in Marc's decision to step down, but he also had personal reasons.
I still am trying to get access to the PSA database, but the brick wall is very solid and my head is fragile.
