Been having issues for a while with the boot uncatching itself when a door is opened. It was the microswitch permenantly operated. Fixed that and now it works when flicking the catch with the boot open with a scewdriver but when the boot is shut it won't unlock. I can get round it by locking the doors with the button on the dash then opening the drivers door and the boot uncatches. I'm wondering if it is the actual latch in the boot thinking the boot is still open when it's closed? Any ideas?
Cheers

Re: C4 Coupé boot problem
Does the boot open warning on the dash & the boot light work as expected?

Re: C4 Coupé boot problem
It does. It's gone a step backwards. Now the lock doesn't uncatch with the screwdriver flicking it so going to take it all apart again tomorrow evening. Never seen a car where you take the inner lining off to remove the plastic outer skin to expose the button. Easy though, just wierd.

Re: C4 Coupé boot problem
Took it apart today. Switch is working, tested at the 2 pin connecting block for continuity. 'M6282' seems to be the earth because it bells out when bridged to one of the rear window brake light wires. This leaves '6297' which must be the +ve feed. There is no power. I'm using the wiring diagram from this thread viewtopic.php?t=83978
Should there be power on '6297'?
I've pulled some of the rear lh trim off to expose the loom and have found the '6297' wire but before I cut and shut a new wire in am I being a muppet and missing something?
Cheers

Re: C4 Coupé boot problem
Have you checked for broken wires in the harness between the body & bootlid?
this would make the most sense the way its behaving.

Re: C4 Coupé boot problem
Only just pulled more trim off to exposed the 16 pin harness connector (11 are used) Did a continuity test between the '6297' on the switch and all (pink in this case) pins on the connector. Diddly squat, so yeah a broken wire (or possibly more now)in the rubber boot it would seem. There seems to be a rubber tether stopping the rubber boot being pulled out of the door skin. Is there a trick to release it or do I just cut the bugger off? I've already lost 1/2 the plastic retaining clip for the rubber boot inside the metal boot
Cheers
Good fun thisCheers
