Hi all. New to the forum and new to citroens!
I recently purchased a C4 2012 B7 with the AL4 4 speed auto gearbox. I decided to replace the gearbox oil as it was dirty as. This was done but after 20-30 kms it went to 3rd gear and the snow and sport mode flashing...I also get p1592 error from a scan tool that I have
I dont have a lexia to do an oil wear reset. Is there a way to do it without lexia?
Thanks a lot

Re: Oil Wear Reset
Maybe another make of high end code reader but without any - no.

Thanks.
I decrease that you can do it by pressing the accelerator all the way to the floor with the engine on for 40 secs and then release it…
Is it possible to be the pressure sensor underneath the gearbox or the type of oil?

I have never heard of that technique so can't comment. You didn't say what oil you put in so, again, I can't comment.

Re: Oil Wear Reset
Is nylon a trade name or does the oil contain nylon? I've never heard of this but strongly suspect that it is not to specification. Does the spec sheet list what manufacturer's oil specifications it meets? Look for PSA as well as Citroen. Don't just accept a general "fits PSA cars" or the like.

Sorry my keyboard doesn't like me Nulon multivehicle ATF. And the pressing of the accelerator to reset the ecu did not work. I just drained the oil and cleaned the pressure sensor with a cotton bud. I have Penrite which is specific for Renault. Weird thing is that it happened after driving it 50kms. I think I need to buy a lexia, a new sensor and a set of solenoids?

And what about specifications for vehicles rather than a "covers everything" claim? I don't have an automatic gearbox but I believe that they are a bit fussy about the oil that's fitted. Other's may know for sure. And you DO need to tell the gearbox ECU that new oil has been fitted so that it can relearn things.

Yeah not sure if nulon is approved but here in AU we have limited options. Anyway thanks for the advice, so to tell the gearbox that new oil is fitted I need a lexia/diagbox?Paul-R wrote: 09 Apr 2025, 12:16 And what about specifications for vehicles rather than a "covers everything" claim? Or a high end code reader. A $50 handheld job won't cut the mustard.
