Citroen C5 X7 additive a FAP

Unread post by Maurino »

Translation:-

Hello everyone,
I have a Citroën C5 X7 with VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] and RPO code 10861, which corresponds to an approximate build date of March 5, 2010.
The problem is that I'm getting a message that the FAP additive level is very low.
I would be grateful if you could confirm the correct type of additive for this model.

Well you would need to check what color is the cap (click-fit) on FAP fluid (EOLYS) reservoir.

White: EOLYS DPX 42 (Gen 1)
Green: EOLYS 176 (Gen 2)
Blue: EOLYS POWERFLEX (Gen 3)
Black: EOLYS Extend (Gen 4)

That should be the same thing as EOLYS 176 just from another company / producer, and can be mixed with EOLYS 176.

FROM CHATGPT:

? Mixing Eolys 176 (Gen 2) with Infineum F7995 (Gen 3) is strictly not allowed.
They are chemically different and were designed for different DPF systems and injection strategies. Mixing them can lead to:

💥 Additive system malfunctions

? Failed DPF regeneration

?? Clogged particulate filter

💡 Error messages and warning lights on the dashboard

💸 Costly repairs or even full DPF replacement

? Official PSA guidelines:
Fluid Type Mix Allowed? Notes
Eolys DPX 42 + 176 ? Both Gen 1 and 2 – incompatible
Eolys 176 + Infineum F7995 ? Gen 2 + Gen 3 – must not be mixed
Infineum F7995 + PowerFlex ? Gen 3 + Gen 4 – also incompatible
🟦 Your configuration:
RPO 10861 ? Infineum F7995 only

If your tank has a green connector (typical for Eolys 176), but your ECU is configured for Type C, you must continue using Infineum F7995-compatible fluid.

If you ever suspect that a previous owner or workshop mixed fluids, it is strongly advised to:

Flush the additive tank;

Clean or regenerate the DPF (if possible);

Use Diagbox to reset and reconfigure the additive counter and fluid type.
