C6 front suspension failure : WHY ?

C6 front suspension hydraulic unit removed : what could have caused this terrible deterioration of foam cushion ?
Will it happen again ?
How can I protect the NEW front suspension foam from future deterioration?

Cause = Age.....it is 20-13 year old foam that lives in a very harsh environment and subjected to considerable loads..

Nothing can keep age away............

Have you now added a C6 to your collection ?
