Is everything else working on the instrument panel as expected?
Is the re a trip mileage? does this work?
When did it stop showing miles?
Its there anything where the mileage is supposed to be like dashes etc?

Hi thank you for your reply and support I bought the car knowing the previous owner said there was an electrical fault, after much searching I found the hidden 125 amp non replacement fuse in the engine fuse box was blown after curing this everything came alive again e.g wipers lights locks etc but I was left with nothing at all in the milage window I assume they may have blown the main fuse due to trying to jump start it.

I am not familiar with dashes on Peugeot 107 so I might be shooting blanks, but my exRenault which was similar in years had oil level check instead of mileage when starting. When the oil was low the oil check stayed on the whole time instead of mileage. If I remember correctly it was all underdashes (_ _ _ _ _ _) instead of numbers. Maybe it is same concept and car is trying to say the oil level is low?
It's worth checking since it's fast and free.

Hi thank you to the people that posted suggestions to help to trace the fault, strangely by chance today I decide to plug in my diagnostic code reader and the clocks instantly came to life that was until I unplugged the reader and they went blank again.

This seems like problem with voltage on the socket. Check the dashboard connectors for good possitive and grounding. It might be a problem with insuficient possitive connection or bad grounding.

Thank you I have worked out that the problem seems to be cured when the pin 4 and pin 5 are joined together giving an earth to pin 5 the signal ground, I was hoping someone could help with a wiring diagram to confirm the route of the cable to short cut a repair to save me taking the dash out

Are you talking about pins 4 & 5 in the diagnostic socket?
I am away from home this week & cant access diagrams till next week. I can get you a diagram if you are ok to wait till next week unless someone else can get one before then?
As for taking the dash out, there are not many cars as easy as the 107/C1 to take the dash out. After you have done it a few times you can have the full dash out in less than half an hour.

Hi

Yes the obd port when I plug my scanner in all the clocks are normal showing mileage, fuel gauge etc so the diagnostic reader is supplying an earth from pin 4 ground to pin 5 signal ground which then corrects the fault, I checked this by briefly connecting a wire between pin 4 and 5 which worked.
I am now wondering if it is a wiring fault or if the previous owner has blown resisters or something in the ecu taking out the signal ground when they blew the large fuse presumably by jump starting it the wrong way.

OK so it looks like pin 5 of the OBD socket is earthed via the instrument panel (earth point MC36)You could just add an additional earth to pin 5, just extend the wire & fit a new eyelet to it & earth it.

I'd be taking a close look at these 2 connectors/terminals going in & out of the instrument panel

Thank you very much once again for your help and support, I was wondering if pin 5 was direct from the ecu and if it had resisters inline to reduce the feed for other components

looks like its just a straight earth that goes via the instrument panel.
Very basic car this electrical wise, no multiplexing/CAN bus.
