CITROEN C4 HIGHWAY DRIVER ASSIST

Unread post by RikGazu »

Hello everyone,

I have a 2021 Citroen C4 155hp Shine Plus with all the extras that can have.

Bought the car second hand from a dealer in Lisbon Portugal, imported from France.

The car has all the sensors and modules for the Highway Driver Assist to work but it doesn't.

Already took it to a official garage that confirm that the the Highway Driver Assist is not active.
It has been said that it should it be activated at the factory and there is no way to activated it now.

Its really frustrating that the car has everything it needs for it to work (adaptive cruise control with start and stop, lane assist, radar, cameras, sign recognition)

It even has park assist so it moves the steering wheel on its own.

I convinced myself a software update it would be all it took but apparently i hit a dead end with the solution since Citroen tell us that if it didn't came with it from the factory at the time of purchase, its impossible to activate after that they say.

The car already stays behind the car in front adjusting the speed and breaking, it reads the lines and steers to correct position in the lane.
What it doesn't do is maintaining the vehicle in the center of the lane and steer when needed, making it semi autonomous

Isn't there any way to make it to work?

Thank you so much

Think I would be asking for my money back as it doesn’t do what it says on the tin :|

I just checked: in your case the highway drive assist is "just" an improved lane assist, which means it should center the car better in the middle of the lane compared to the normal lane assist, which is just correcting when you get close to the lane

Thank you for the reply, does that mean I have no chance of activating it?! It's so frustrating.
It has all the modules to work but it simply doesn't work 😔
They say if it's not done in the factory when it's built, it's not possible to activate later on.

But whoever bought the car in the first place, paid almost €1000 euros for the sunroof, €500 for the black paint, the highway driver assist came as standard for the shine plus and the person who bought just said, nevermind, I don't want that?

So frustrating.
Thank you for looking up.

Cheers

Thank you very much for your reply.
We still have a valid warranty until February next year.
If we don't find a solution until there, then I will try to find someone specialized in car electronics that maybe can help us ...

Thank you very much
