2011 C3 Citroen Picasso VTR Plus HDi 1.6. Diesel. 57k
Nowadays we are beginning to use our Picasso much less than usual, more of less just going to the shops etc, which is as you know not good for diesel engines, as the engine does not get hot enough to do what it has to do, with the DPF.
Last year I took the Picasso to a garage that cleaned out the filter for me so it should not, I would have thought start to get blocked again so soon, so I am looking for suggestions please.
PS. There was no mention of this on the MOT Certificate.
The vehicle is a 2011 and with 57k on the clock what would you suggest I do next please?

mickthemaverick thank you for your input - I certainly will look at all these entries as they look very interesting.
The cars performance is very perky and can accelerate without any problems as I always use the best grade of fuel.
I wonder how difficult it would be to remove this filter from the car myself - Being 84 years old and a protective wife it just may not be a good idea I say to myself. Maybe give a REDEX DPF Cleaner a try perhaps. Regards

Re: Diesel Particulate Filter warning light...
The various commercial DPF cleaners are a subject of much discussion and musing. Some have found they work and some they might as well have used water!! I elected to go down the brick acid route as I knew it would work and on the C4 Picasso it is relatively easy access. Good luck whichever way you choose to go

mickthemaverick again thank you for your input.
There is no substitute for experience I have always found, a good idea to listen to the experiences of others especially on platforms like these, which can be hard to find. The brick acid is one I would favour as I have used it to clean concrete and walls before and it does a good job I have found without being too aggressive. Regards
