Hi all,
Messing around under the C5 the other day, whilst solving the latest crisis (Eolys) problem that came up, I spotted the rear pads are about 4mm left. I'd like to get a set of pads (the disks look ok), but every time I check (Halfords, Autodoc, etc), they all say "only for vehicles without electric parking brake", which mine has!
I'd prefer not to go to the main stealer for these, but does anyone know, say a Bosch part number please?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried GSF?
They are generally pretty good. Look out for a discount offer.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Hi & thanks,
There's nothing on their website, after you input the car details, that mentions electric handbrake or not and there's nobody there over the weekend to talk to. If I'm still without a part number by Monday, I'll see if I can speak to someone.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Buying new brake pads is probably a once off for most of us on a car so I now get them from a dealer and pay the high price knowing they will be correct. A long time ago I once bought some copy parts that must have been made from cardboard and others that did not brake very well.
Brake pads often have a makers name and part number on them so you could remove one and have a look.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Seem to be lots of options, e.g.
https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car-br ... rand%5D=30
Similar on Autodoc - perhaps your Reg Number or VIN is throwing up manual H/brake pads?

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Hi all,
After some detective work, it appears that Bosch BP1449 pads fit my electric handbrake rear end!
Just ordered some from Am@zon for £20 delivered. Another job on the list!
Thanks again.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Glad you’ve sussed the right ones. Have to say Amazon is the last place I would buy car parts from - so many fake parts sold through Amazon.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Yes I agree wholeheartedly.
I've bought mine through the official Bosch outlet on Amazon, so I'm hoping all will be ok.
If not........I shall be singing "There's no stopping us now" as I hurtle towards the horizon.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
Dealer part number for rear pads is 1647894180
Was originally part number 425405 before it was updated to the one above. These might help to locate the correct aftermarket pads.
Looks like its a TEVES system for electric handbrake & TRW Lucas for manual handbrake.

Re: Rear brake pad type or part number
These rear pads are a really common part.
They're used on loads of different cars, by loads of different manufacturers.
I'm a right fan of using genuine parts as I always think that they're better quality, or maybe rather that you're virtually guaranteed that the pads will be of a decent quality.
I've used genuine Citroen, Ford and Renault rear pads on my C5X7 and they've all been absolutely fine
