just a quick intro - I'm from Leeds & I've just bought a Citroen DS3 (2013, 1.6, 120bhp version). It's my first real experience of a French car (unless you count the Peugeot 106 which I owned for about a month 20ish years ago?). I quite like the DS3 so far but can't help feeling there's going to be a new clutch needed soon as there's a bit of judder & the car smells after only a relatively short run. Unfortunately this didn't show up on the test drive, it's low mileage though (51,000) with old MOT's to back this up, it came from a garage with 3 months warranty so they'll be getting a phone call soon.
My other car has absolutely no French blood in it whatsoever & is a Reliant Scimitar SS1 from 1985. I've owned it many years & it went from being a runner with (somehow) 12 months MOT on it, to being a project (engine swap to an 1800 Zetec from a 1600 CVH (+ various other "improvements"), to being a runner again & is now back to being a project again. It's SORN'd & my mojo for it over the last year or so has been sadly lacking, now that I'm retired & the weather's improving this will, hopefully, return. It's 40 years old - so tax free - next year so this will give me an incentive to get it back on the road. You either love or hate the way it looks but they handle superbly & are great fun to drive as well being something different. Only 1500 or so made so they're quite a rare sight.
Anyway enough waffle - hello
