C4 Grand Picasso 2016 alarm goes off after battery change
Had battery changed at Halfords and now the alarm goes off immediately when locking with the key fob. I am in High Wycombe. My local garage (Citroen servicing) said it is likely to need a BSI software download but they are reluctant to do it because they have had cars lock up completely and need someone to come from London to get the car usable and still haven’t fixed the alarm problem. They didn’t do any detailed diagnosis. I did try a BSI reset but it didn’t fix the problem. No error messages on the main screen, problem with using the spare key too. Everything else works fine with the car.

Does it think the bonnet is open ? Try with the bonnet definitely open and see if you get the same.

Has anyone touched the SHUNT fuse in the BSI?

Not that I am aware of. No work that has ever been done on the car has related to software/BSI

With the bonnet open the car locks and no alarm sounding - so the same as using the key in the door. If there was a problem with the bonnet catch I think it would have shown up before? The problem only started after I got home after the battery was changed.PaulC5 wrote: 12 Mar 2025, 14:55 Does it think the bonnet is open ? A decent scanner should be able to tell you what is setting the alarm off. But if the car was not allowed to go to sleep before the battery was taken off, then it could have corrupted the software.
