Topped up FAP fluid and pack repair but still an problem.

Unread post by LittleOldSuzi »

Our 2010 1.6 HDi (9HZ) 308 ran low on additive. I took the tank off and put 1L in, did the Pack Repair process (it now says full at 2000ml) and thought it was sorted. Sadly, the risk of filter blocking message is still on the dashboard.

I have checked and the DPF 80% blocked. Drove it hard for 15 miles but no change. There are no codes in the ECU or the BSI so what am I missing? How do I get it to do a DPF regen cycle? Thanks.

What are you scanning it with?

My guess is that the DPF will be 'end of life' - i.e. it's reached what PSA think is its life, usually there is a fault code for this. In reality it is probably fine. What is the pressure drop and regen cycle showing? If it looks OK you can just tell it has been replaced and it will go away happy.

That would make sense and I will check it in the morning. We had the DPF off and cleaned about 12 months ago but never told the ECU it had been cleaned/replaced so the ECU thinks it has done 130K. Thanks for the advice.

It's all computer guess work. You can fit a new a DPF but computer will say no. If the computer isn't told it's new it won't restart it's own countdown. You can lie to the computer and say it's new. Most important thing is DON'T let the fap fluid run dry.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.
