Guess the price.

Unread post by Gibbo2286 »

My small Wolf compressor was leaking air at the control so I looked for some bits to fix it. This looks just the same as what's already fitted but it's from AliExpress, looked cheap so I thought I'd give it a try. So how much would it cost with free post from China?

I looked at a lot of them Mick all seem to be from the same source, the one I bought was listed at £32.25 with a £30 discount and post free, hit the buy button just to see what would happen, it arrived today just 8 days after the order so I only paid £2.25 for it..............worth the risk of fitting it?

Without a doubt!! Got to be in the will it or won't it work club, and if it does how long for? As long as it doesn't wreck the compressor what have you got to lose? :-D

The gauges will certainly read a pressure, whether it has any relationship with the actual air pressure is another matter :-D
The fittings won't bare much abuse, but they will work for long enough :-D
The mouse that lives inside the black box and turns the power on and off may be dead by now, but you can try feeding it to see if it comes round :-D
It'll all work..... but whether I'd trust it is another matter

As I now only use the compressor to blow the car tyres and the very occasional air screwdriver I think its going to be good enough for me,

They've just announced Royal Mail has upped the price of a stamp to £1.70, good job I didn't buy it in the UK. :-D

It would be interesting to pump a tyre up with the guage and then check the pressure with a known accurate guage, can you try that Gibbo? :)

Thaty highlights one of the problems with buying goods from China and having them delivered by Royal Mail over here - the Royal Mail only gets a pittance in terminal dues (delivery fees) for delivering the packages. The rates that are charged / received are set out by the Universal Postal Union so the Royal Mail just have to accept the situation. It's the same in an awful lot of countries :(

This came mid morning with a courier in a white van not Royal Mail, no idea who the actual courier was. :?
