Please help - small engine vibrations persist, more investigation needed - DV6C.

Hi guys!

First, thanks for this great forum!

I bought my second PSA car some months ago (C4 GP2 - 2014 manual), and have been working on it since then. Changed all timingparts, aux belt and aux-tensionerwheels. Also changed DMF (flywheel, clutch, releasebearing and main seal) and other good to change parts (CV joints, seals on the gearbox and more).

When I bought the car I had initial vibration problems on idle and between 800-1800 rpm but this got so much better after installing the new DMF kit. However I still have som small vibrations and after reading Valeo technical bulletins I now have ordered a new Cranckshaft Pulley from Corteco since this is recommended to change at the same time new DMF kit is fitted. I really hope the last small vibrations (between 800-1500 rpm) will go away now (I will update you after installation of it)!

When working on the car I found out that the engine back cover (that attach to the back of the airfilter box and also with plastic-clips/nuts on the bracket at the lower back of the engine) was loose and turned 90 degrees. I put it back as it should be when I also changed rubber bushings for the airbox, but now I guess this part became a resonance-box since I've got a annoying ratteling sound inside the cabin between 800-1500 rpm in first gear most, this goes away when the speed and gear increases.

Since I had all enginemounts away when working on the car of course I verifyed the rubber was intact. But could this be a problem anyway? Will the rubber loose stability over time even if the rubber is without cracks or other visual defects?

Has anyone any ideas, tips what to do?

No faultcodes, the engine and car running great overall

167000 km / about 105.000 miles
