ABS module. C4 Grand Picasso MK 1 help needed please! 🙏

Hi I have a a mk1 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso that is Greek left hand drive. I am in the UK with it and need to replace the ABS module. My mechanic is also struggling to find the info as he says the part numbers on the ABS module have been scratched out. Indicating it has previously been changed possibly for the wrong one! It is from 2007 and is the 1.6 hdi. Diesel. It has the fake automatic with the actuator system and the electronic parking break. I really need to find the correct part number to find the part so my mechanic can fit it and code it in for me. If it helps my VIN number is

Does it matter that my car is the left hand drive version? Surely the parts are the same Any help trying to find the correct part would be greatly appreciated. My mechanic has been through everything and it has come to this module that looks shot or the wrong one fitted. (I’m not surprised if this is the case).

The VIN can only provide the dealer part number, this is the number that will be on the box/packaging when you buy a new unit, this number is not marked on the actual part at all meaning if you are looking for second hand parts it may not be much help. The manufacturers part number is the one that is on the unit itself & normally the on breakers would use when listing the parts.

Ahhh I’m screwed then. Because the part numbers have been scratched off for some reason .

Would anyone be able to help me find the manufacture part code at least and then I will try and at least find the correct part online. I have noticed some second hand parts ARE showing the manufacture part number not the after market one so this should be ok. IT is a left hand drive grand Picasso mk1 from October 2007 should that make a difference. Really need some help with this as I have to drive the car back to Greece soon

When you get another abs module it will need a diagnostic to code it to your car so if your mechanic does not have the required equipment you might end up needing to visit a Citroen dealer so worth checking with him. If you are going to need a Citroen dealer you might need to book this in to allow plenty of time before you need to use the car again. We had a 2008 C4 that needed a new abs unit as part of a crash repair and the bodyshop had to get a Citroen specialist in to code it since they found they could not do it.
