Decode ORGA/RP Number

Unread post by Old-Guy »

I've not been here since 2017 - but I now miss the magic carpet ride on long cross-country trips, so started thinking about another 'real' Citroen. An XM (Break?) might fit the bill and they're not (yet) fetching silly money so I joined the XM forum; where I've happened upon a post on this subject with a broken link to the relevant FCF Wiki. I can't find the Wiki section.

Anyway, I think I may have written or contributed to that Wiki, which was Xantia-specific, as I have a source file and a PDF. I'm out of date and out of touch, but for what it's worth here it is (edited to be non-specific):

Comments, Corrections and Additions welcomed please.

I also found a spreadsheet for doing the decode (type in complete ORGA or just RP number and it gives Factory and Build Date), but I now have nowhere to make it generally available (in .ods format).
2012 Subaru Forester - capable but no magic carpet
2011 Grand C4 Picasso VTR+ 1.6HDi - not missed!
1995 Xantia Estate SX 1.9TD in Vert Vega "The Green Lady" - sadly missed
1998 Xantia 2.1 VXD Estate in Mauritius Blue - R.I.P. (terminal tin-worm)

If you just google Citroen RPO calculator there a a few websites that will calculate build date from RP number.

Thanks for replying. Obviously, I don't have a problem. I created the spreadsheet years ago so that I could easily decode RPs and added the factory decode when I happened upon the data. At the time, I couldn't find a website that could do either.
