I own a Citroën C4 Grand Picasso MK2 2014, and a few days ago, I got an error message: “Braking system fault: Stop the vehicle.”
I disconnected the battery to reset the computer, but it was unsuccessful. A friend connected an OBD2 scanner and reset an error related to the electronic parking brake motor, after which the system started functioning again.
When the electronic parking brake was stuck, the button was unresponsive, and there was no way to release it. That’s why I’m interested in knowing if there is a way to manually release the brake cable.
My previous experience with a Renault Scénic was that there was a manual release option for the electronic parking brake in the trunk. However, I couldn’t find anything similar in the Citroën.
I appreciate any responses in advance—this would only be used in case the issue happens again, so I can move the vehicle to a safe location or load it onto a tow truck.
How to Manually Release a Stuck Electronic Parking Brake on a Citroën C4 Grand Picasso MK2 (2014)?

The only way to release these if the system is unresponsive is to remove the motors from the calipers, and then manually screw the actuators back underneath.
