B0001 fault code on Citroen C4 Picasso

Unread post by sallen »

I have a citroen c4 grand picasso (2015) which I took for MOT on monday, had lots of work done this year and no warning lights were showing when I dropped the car off,
However when I picked it up it had failed due to airbag warning light on dash (100% wasnt there when dropped the car off!!)
Took the car and had diagnostic run and it is showing fault code B0001 Resistance too high "Level 1 drivers air bag line fault" & U1F00 Not Characterized "Fault not recorded in the built in systems interface faults log"

Any ideas? Is there anything I can try?

The UF100 fault means that the BSI has not detected the occurrence of a fault that was sent by the specific ECU that recorded the fault.

You're missing the last 2 parts of the fault code, which may be a limitation of your diagnostic tool, but assuming it is B0001 1B:
Fault Code: B0010 1B
Description of Fault:
  • Level 1 passenger’s air bag line fault: Resistance too high.
  • Description of the diagnostics(*)
  • Global impedance of the line is excessive for more than 2 seconds.
  • Possibility 1
Resistance between 4,5 ohms and 10 ohms : Open Circuit fault or no fault detected
  • Possibility 2
Resistance greater than 10 Ohms : Open Circuit fault certain
  • Conditions of activation of the diagnostics: The following conditions have to be met:
    - Ignition switched on
    - Absence of a fault which inhibits all of the ignition modules
    - Air bags and pretensioners ECU not locked after an accident (it is possible to clear the faults)
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • Conditions of disappearance of the fault (*): Global impedance of the line is nominal for more than 2 seconds.
  • Possibility 1
Resistance between 1,2 ohms and 1,7 ohms : Short Circuit fault or no fault detected
  • Possibility 2
Resistance between 1,7 ohms and 4,5 ohms : Nominal impedance ; No fault detected
  • Possibility 3
Resistance between 4,5 ohms and 10 ohms : Open Circuit fault or no fault detected
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Recording of the fault in the built-in systems interface (BSI) faults log (JDD)
  • Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message: Display of the air bags and pre-tensioners fault warning lamp / symbol
Symptoms:
  • Display of the air bags and pre-tensioners fault warning lamp / symbol
Suspect Areas:
  • Passenger airbag
  • Connectors
  • Dashboard electrical harness
  • Airbags and pretensioners control unit
ESSENTIAL: (*) Risk of pyrotechnic deployment, do not perform any measuring on the pyrotechnic line.
