2019 Citroen Dispatch 2.0 Bluehdi Coolant

Unread post by bromchild »

Hi folks,

First time posting so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Ive just bought a 2019 Citroen Dispatch 2.0 Bluehdi Enterprise edition.

The van is not getting up to temperature at all and fans dont blow hot air, I have a pretty high end Autel and the last regen was over 500kms ago and soot levels are at 17g so seem to have been caught in the nick of time as it will be due to do a regen and it won't do a regen if it doesn't get up to temperature. I'm thinking the thermostat is stuck open (possible air lock too but I'm leaning towards thermostat).

I THINK, just think at the moment, that the coolant looks a bit dirty so possibly a block in the heater matrix (no smells or anything though) so I'll try clear that if it is blocked. I'll investigate more later.

My main question is which coolant is advised for this engine? I'd like PSA group coolant if possible (mainly to keep me right of i need ti make a claim on the Warrenty from the purchase of the vehicle, the dealership is 450 miles away from me though!), just looking to get the right stuff.

Many thanks 😊

As you mentioned I would focus on the coolant thermostat, which is controlled electrically. Coolant should be according PSA B71511 or G33, which is a blue one.

A simple check of the thermostat is to see if the radiator top hose warms up too soon. Should start to open when around 80 to 90°C depending on the thermostat setting but if opening too soon will be lower. A code reader with live data helps check the engine temperature against the thermostat opening.

Last Citroen coolant I bought was a few years ago with part number 9735 K4 but this part no. has changed.

Regarding coolant, new part number is probably 1637756080 which is BASF Glysantin G33 or Arteco Freecor DSC. You can also use Liqui Moly KFS33 (if you compare Arteco Freecor DSC datasheet and the Liqui Moly one, its the same stuff).
