Hi guys, my heater is not working at all, fans are working perfectly and even the flap when changing to the warm dial makes the sound, so I assume is working as well. The coolant level its above the low. I see there's a few topics about this but none with the actual fix . Any recommendations or anyone had the same problem?
The flap motors making a noise is no indication that the flaps are actually turning.
On Auto dual zone climate systems there are both air distribution flap motors for controlling the air direction output and then air mixing flaps to control the hot and cold mixture.
Reduction motors rarely fail, what does fail is the plastic gearing or spindles that are attached to the motors that can wear out with use over time.
But before you go investigating that, you really should have the cooling system serviced to make sure that it is correctly mixed and operating correctly, as a blocked matrix or a system that has been drained and refilled incorrectly by an incompetent mechanic, without degassing it correctly can lead to blockages and therefore lack of heating.
So basically no point in replacing parts unnecessarily until you have found the cause.
