Peugeot 207cc boot lid won't close after manual lift
Hello everyone! I think I'm being stupid and missing a step with my car...So back story, I had a terrible garage break the roof switch on my Peugeot 207cc (1.6 petrol 2011). I'm not blaming them, they came out and admitted it to me. We had to do a manual lift on my roof due to the switch not working. I can't however get the boot lid to close. It's like something is blocking the hooks from fully folding up. After much research all I can find is that there should be a U pin I can change the position of to enable me to close this but there are no U pins at all...am I missing something? or is there another way to do this?

I am not familiar with your car but can the boot lock latch hook close around a screwdriver to prove it is ok. If so then the peg it closes against on the car might be the problem or the boot lid is not going down far enough.

When open, the latch should look like
I think that the U pin is:-

Hi, thank you but that's not the latch that's problematic. It's the lid ones. The upper boot cover, one on each side of the car with a hook

It's the hooks here but mine doesn't have the U bracket to turn

It's the hydraulic rams in the boot lid that is preventing the hooks from latching closed, this happens because the valves inside the pump are closed
for that direction of travel and you are fighting against the hydraulic fluid to those 2 rams, when rams fully close they release the wire cable to the hooks
allowing them to latch shut.
There may be another method of doing it but this is how I did it to get it fully closed due to incoming heavy rain....unscrew one of the lower hydraulic
fluid cables and pull it out of the ram, you will lose a small amount of fluid so have a cloth below it, this will release the pressure allowing you to
latch the hooks on either side, the boot will be open still at this stage and all you then do is reattach the hydraulic cable, top up the pump if it
falls below the mark (unlikely), and then close the boot.
Once you replace the broken switch it should work as normal once again. Bear in mind if you have a roof faulty message come up at any time
when trying the roof maneouvre the boot will lock and only open again after a few minutes.
The later models don't have the U shaped pins BTW.

Thank you, Jamie! The car fixed itself yesterday??? Haha I was slowly driving to work and the trim that was floating around the boot knocked the luggage shelf back. I heard the bang of it retracting. I got to work and tried the switch. Of course it didn't work because the net wasn't out. Put the net back and it all decided to work!! It let me electrically close the boot fully.
I'm guessing a switch was stuck or something? But that information is really handy to know in case I have to ever do this again and touch wood I don't need to haha
