DS7 Software Update Recall MQ6 for NOX emissions

Unread post by BPickles51 »

  • I have received notification that this is now due on my 24 reg DS7 1.5
  • Dealer says it cannot wait and be done at the same time as the 2nd service in May
  • Advised it can take a full day, sometimes even longer, to carry out, rather than a while-you-wait task
Has anyone else received notification and had this recall done already on their DS7, or got it booked in?

This is a mute point to be honest as after-sales campaigns like this are only for specific engines and models within a specific build date and will depend on existing software version installed. So this will only apply to some DS7 models and not blanket. Owners will be notified assuming they have it dealer-maintained, and only if it is of an urgent safety concern (like the Takatar air bag issue) , will they will be able to access DVSA records to notify registered keepers.

If you pop your VIN up I may have a better idea of what this is for. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Thankyou very much for the reply, Marc. The VIN is VR1**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

My main issue is that other DS7 owners I know have been told by dealers that this recall can wait until their next service even if this is months away, and they have been told it can be done while they wait. But my dealer (I would rather not say which one) advises I must book it urgently, can't do while you wait, and might even be in overnight involving courtesy car. For the exact same recall as the other owners I'm in contact with.

Ok, so this affects about 20,000 Stellantis vehicles and the campaign was launched in early January 2025. Of this figure, 1,200 DS7 Crossbacks are affected. This concerns the 1.5 Blue HDi vehicles specifically and is a result of an engine management software parameterisation error.

Basically it means the system is not detecting the threshold for UREA underconsumption correctly and this can cause incorrect information about NOx emission values, which could cause the emissions to be above the regulatory limits and therefore non-compliant of the Euro standard.

Many thanks for the extra information.

In your view, is it an urgent recall putting my safety and that of others at risk?

I would like a consistent message from dealers about how long it takes, how urgent it is, and so on.

No, not in in those terms - but they have to treat it seriously because of the eco zealots and emissions regulations, so if the vehicle is not compliant with emissions standards, then it doesn't meet the certification for which is was awarded and therefore could have other implications like legality of being on the road. Think of a vehicle that has failed emissions at MOT....

So from that perspective it is pretty important, but is it going to hurt anyone?, no.

Morning, Marc. Bizarre - last week, two dealerships I checked with both confirmed my reg/VIN is due for a recall, which the leasing company originally communicated to me as the 3rd "voice" saying my car needs it. But today, one of the dealers says the GOV/DVLA records show my car does not need this recall for NOX or any other recall for that matter. I support I just go with what they now say.

Again, we need to be clear on the definition of a 'Recall'. It is not a 'Recall', it is an 'After-Sales Campaign.

It won't be on the DVSA list unless it's a serious safety issue.

It IS however listed on DS Automobiles own systems as relevant under your VIN. So you need to tell the bloke at the dealer who should know his job, to check on ServiceBox and he will see as clear as day it is required for your vehicle as below:

I get really fed up with these people not following their training.

Just to clarify further, if you look under the DS7 in the table I posted above, you will see that it covers models with your engine from production date:
29/3/2022 - 11/12/2023

Your DS7 has a build code (RPO) of 17004, which means a build or production date of 30th May 2023! So is within the vehicle range of affected vehicles. Don't be fobbed off, he has know idea what he's talking about.
