Forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to engine/turbo related issues, but I've got a niggling question on my mind regarding a sensor that is seemingly disconnected on my vehicle.
It's a terrible picture, but there are 2 air pipes that enter the front of the engine on my vehicle. Both seem to have sensors, but only the right hand pipe is connected to anything. The pipe on the left has no cabling going to it at all, and after an investigation, there are no loose cables anywhere, but there is a another socket to it's left that's also empty. I don't know if this is normal to have been left disconnected or if my mechanic forgot to fit it after doing some work this week.
My confusion stems from seeing images of this engine with a single pipe instead of the 2 my car has.
Trying to find any information about this has been a bit of nightmare, hoping someone here has experience or expertise on the matter. Any illumination on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome along
I'm sure we've had that question before, and concluded that it just wasn't ever connected. Does the inside of the socket have the same grime level as the surrounding parts?

Yes, some engines especially the DW10CTED4 never had this connected. If you aren't sure, pop your VIN up. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

I will have to look tomorrow, been away all day and it's a bit too wet and dark to check right now.RichardW wrote: 23 Feb 2025, 09:04 Welcome along

Re: Peugeot RCZ HDi Diesel 2011 - Question about disconnected sensor
Yes, so you have the DW10CTED4 engine and in this case it states: DW10C engine: The by-pass function is not active, the hot air (by-pass) flap is only activated in the event that the cold air (mixer) flap seizes.
