Hi
Hoping someone can help a little, I have a Citroen C4 spacetourer 2019, it’s showing an engine fault stop warning on light and oil pressure warning.
Car goes into limp mode and I am struggling to figure out what is the fault with it
I have replaced oil filter and fault still persists. Had a fault code reader on the car and coming up with U118 comms with the BSI ECU and P119f deterioration of the engine oil
Had anyone had this before or any support would be helpful thanks

Re: Engine fault STOP, Oil pressure fault
That's unusual... normally it's the belt dissolving and blocking the strainer on the 1.2 petrol.
Did it come on during normal running (not after a oil change)? Was the oil change overdue? It may be that the fault for oil dilution needs to be reset otherwise it will still think it's a problem. Do you do lots of short runs?

Re: Engine fault STOP, Oil pressure fault
Just came on during normal running, faults were reset after an oil filter change but it has reappeared
No car only gets used every couple days for short/long journeys
Trying to think if I should change the oil and maybe sensor
But don’t want to do all that if it’s nothing to do with oil and maybe something else causing it

Re: Engine fault STOP, Oil pressure fault
If an oil pressure sensor is cheap enough then swap it, if not then get a diagnostic to see what pressure is being measured, preferably by a Citroen dealer. Is the engine noisier than normal which might indicate a low pressure ? If the oil pump is worn it would help to measure the pressure with a gauge (diagnostic) to check it first before replacing. You could also check the sensor wiring/connector for a fault.
Just over a year ago the oil spec for the 1.5 hdi was changed to a thicker oil (possibly 0w-30 to 5w-30) to try to reduce the chance of the cam chain wearing. Oil changes are every 12 months on the 1.5 hdi or x miles if sooner. You will have had at least 1 oil change since the new spec came in, did you use the latest spec ?
