Hello,
I have a 2022 Citroen C4 1.5BlueHdi 130 that has water in the rear passenger footwell. Has anyone experienced this and what's the cure? Thanks

Is it not still under warranty? if so let the dealer sort it.

Re: Water in rear footwell
Look for dampness front footwell and in the boot area, this will tell you if you have a leak elsewhere and it's draining into the rear footwell, if not it's or possibly just the door or window seal.

No Citroen dealer in Shetland, nearest one now 12Hr overnight ferry and then 184 mile drive. Hardly worth it for a warranty trip if simple fix.

Shame about no dealers, when you change your car I would possibly pick a make with a local dealer.

Re: Water in rear footwell
Do you have an opening sunroof - that's the most likely occurrence for a leak at the rear, second to the roof base aerial where water can enter.

You need to find and fix the leak, not an easy task. If you are able to get old daily newspapers, a scheme to dry out the floor that has worked for me in the distant past, is to find and remove enough carpet trim that a full newspaper can be slid under the carpet at the lowest point. Change each day until it comes out dry. It takes a few weeks, but works in the end (providing you fixed the leaks!)

Re: Water in rear footwell
So check the seal under the shark fin aerial - are there signs of water on the ceiling at the rear - especially near the rear interior light housing?
My next thoughts are the rear door weather seals.
Next, check the undersides of the rear doors. Open and close them and listen for any 'sloshing noises' that would indicate water trapped inside the bottom of the door housing. Water entering from open windows or that has penetrated via the rear window seals is designed to be evacuated via small holes int he bottom of the doors. These can become clogged.
Failing these checks, I can't immediately think where else it is coming from.
One thing you can do is on a dry day and with the rear doors opened and dried along the weather strips, is to close them and spray with a a hose or watering can, wait and then check to see if you can determine if it's coming in from anywhere obvious.

Re: Water in rear footwell
I had water in the rear footwell of a BX as a result of a badly installed replacement windscreen, so keep a very open mind about remote possibilities.
