Hi there, Can someone advise what this unit is?
I assume it is to do with citroens sat nav and hands free and maybe Bluetooth?
I'm replacing the stereo and don't need the Citroen hands free, sat nav or Bluetooth and my OCD requires me to remove anything that is no longer necessary!
Thank you!

No idea, but since it has lots of cables going to it, including what appear to be data cables, removing it sounds like a bad idea, as it may cause all sorts of comms errors.

If you can provide the info on the label, specifically the long number beginning with 98* or 96* I may be able to advise, but certainly do not just yank it out, as you will likely have other problems with the electrical systems as these have data networks linking various ECUs that may cause knock-on faults. These may be tracking systems, independent telematic unit / services module, or another ECU, but I'll know more if you can get the number.

Do you have a 'hockey puck' aerial stuck on the windscreen at the top somewhere & a little mic mounted up either next to the A pillar trim or up by the interior light? You may also have a litlle screen or the old mounting bracket where it used to be usually at the base of the drivers A pillar?
Of course all the external stuff may already have been removed as i can imagine anyone would have extended the subscription when it ran out.
If so this looks like the dealer fit Smartnav system & if so the best place for it is the bin.
It was made by Trafficmaster & was already way behind the times when it was released.

Re: Unit mounted behind drivers air vent
Thanks for all the replies,
I've dug a bit deeper and hacked at some cables (just kidding, I was very careful), and it looks like it is just a sat nav unit.
Digging deeper I could see that the only cables connected to the vehicle were a +ve and a -ve cable - and they didn't look like OEM connections. The other cables only connected to an antenna, mic, speaker or screen.
The thing is now removed I feel much happier knowing a I don't have an unnecessary box and bundle of cables/electrical tape wasting space behind my dashboard!
Thanks again
