C4 Picasso 2014 B78 E-HDI Engine type?

Unread post by Byngo9 »

Hi there, im on 85K miles and planning to renew the timing belt, auxiliary belt, water pump and associated tensioner and idler pulleys (for both belts) sometime soon. would like to ensure the right parts arrive from a 3rd party motor factors.
Just looking to confirm if my engine is a DV6C please? TIA
VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Edit, I might also change the crankshaft seal while I'm at it as they are about £6, does anyone know the most suitable tool to tap the new one into place though? (I haven't got any sockets that big)

Yes, that's listed as DV6C. There are lots of different kits for these engines, so best to cross reference against the OE number:

1684448280 - £257.62 Earlier part number was 1613561980 and might be cross referenced elsewhere. You are supposed to fit a new crank pulley bolt, not included in the Cit kit, but should be if you buy a decent non dealer one (was in the SKF kit I used on my 3008 last year). Sorry, no idea what size the crank seal is!

Note if this is on its original belt it's very much on borrowed time and you need to change it ASAP!! They like to shed teeth...

Seems to cross reference to SKF VKMC03316 - https://vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/uk/e ... /VKMC03316 this is the 25mm version, rather than the later 19mm which are shorter lived!

Thanks Richard, yes I've seen kits that include water pump and the new bolt plus the tensioners and belt. The OE numbers will be useful to check as some of the site have that detail. Yes I believe it's the original belt as we have owned the care since it was 3 yrs old. I'm leaving on the drive now till parts are here and the weather gets a bit milder.
