New owner of C3 1.4 petrol 2012.

Unread post by APTinSnail »

Hi All,
New to the forum :)
Have just bought a C3 1.4 petrol 2012 VTR+ for Son to learn to drive in.
Really nice little car, drives perfectly, just a couple of questions if anyone can help?
1. It appears that I have a bit of a leak from the roof mounted radio antenna, can I access it via the rear interior light and replace it with a genuine OEM part? Looks as if it is the wrong antenna / generic replacement and is a bit loose.
2. Only have part service history, so can't tell if the cambelt has been done. (Year 2012, mileage 51k 1.4 4 cylinder) Have booked it in to be changed, however wanted to confirm if it defo has a belt?
Here is the VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Also:
3. Any general tips to keep the C3 good shape ?
Cheers

Ade.

Is it a vti engine, if so it will have a timing chain and not a belt. These chains though still wear and on a 2010 1.4 vti 95 hp C3 we had it needed replacing at around 50k miles. If a belt these should be replaced at 10 years or a mileage around 100k if sooner.

I found it was easy to service and did most of it myself. If the exhaust brackets rust off you can get ones to clamp on to the exhaust through ebay but Citroen do not sell them.
