I have a 14 plate C4 Grand Picasso with140 k on the clock. A week or so ago I couldn't disengage the handbrake without having several goes at it. Next day I couldn't get it to engage.
The guy I normally take it to has replaced the offside rear caliper and part of the wiring harness after running diagnostics. It hasn't fixed the problem and he says he doesn't know where to go next. He's checked the rest of the wiring and he reckons it's sound.
Is he missing something obvious?
I've also had a intermittent fault on the front airbag/pretensioner, which I think is a dodgy connection. Citroen don't have a great reputation for electrics so I'm beginning to wonder if it's tine to get rid rather than keep shelling out.
About the only thing I know about cars is how expensive they are to run, so any feedback welcomed.

Re: C4 Grand Picasso electronic handbrake
Check the handbrake cable isnt getting stuck and its releasing each caliper fully.
There's 3 different handbrake cables, 1 cable runs the length of the car from the handbrake motor to the rear axle where it divides, and each wheel is operated by a seperate cable.

Re: C4 Grand Picasso electronic handbrake
I'd suspect there's a rotten bit of wiring that's been missed, or the plug at the caliper motor itself has moisture damage. I had to solder three separate sections on the handbrake wiring going to the left side. The right isn't in much better shape.
