Fuel filter location

Unread post by PicassoFan »

Hey guys, I have a 2010 Citroen C3 Picasso, 1.6 120vti Petrol. I want to replace the fuel filter but I cannot seem to find where it's located. Thanks.

It may not have one, lots of the petrol ones don't. Post up the VIN and we can check.

I had a look under the left rear seat. There is a big flap and underneath there is the fuel pump sitting on top of the tank. No filter there.

I am not sure but I thought the pump was in the tank and the fuel filter was a cylindrical inline on on the fuel line near the tank.

I also thought that Steve. I checked on the internet and went to a very reputable spares shop, and they sold me an inline fuel filter. Problem is that I cannot find where that goes...

Most petrol Citroens dont have them any more. General rule is if there is only one fuel pipe on the fuel rail (i.e. no return line) then there is no inline fuel filter fitted.

What is your engine code? This is the 6th, 7th and 8th characters of the VIN.

I thought so as well. It's the same one I bought from the spares shop. Problem is that the car is so low to the ground, I battle to find ramps that fit under the front /rear wheels without ripping the bumper off. :-)

Fuel filters started disappearing from petrol Citroens around 2003, after that they were normally only found on models destined for ‘dusty atmosphere’ countries.
Richard has already checked by VIN & its not showing.
How many fuel pipes are on the fuel rail? If there is only one (with no return pipe) then its highly likely you dont have one.

In case you hadn't already guessed, it's petrol. There's some interesting in formation here https://mymotorlist.com/engines/peugeot/ep6/

There is another "box" I found underneath the car, and looks like the fuel line run into this. I attached some pictures.
