I'm curious to know, are there many people with Adblue vehicles over say, 4 years old, who HAVEN'T had any problems? It seems to me from what I've read, that the issues are almost inevitable at some time. I recently decided to change my reliable old manual diesel B9 Berlingo for a newer, larger (XL) automatic as I have developed arthritic hands. I specifically wanted the longer length car so it could be used for occasional camping and I also have dogs, so this size car fits the bill perfectly.
However, I had the huge misfortune of first buying a Ford Grand Tourneo automatic which from day one developed gearbox problems then Adblue faults. I ended up having to go through a painfully long winded rejection process with the dealer (whose customer service was appalling) and eventually got my money back.
Then bought a K9 2019 Berlingo XL earlier this month, and couldn't believe it when after not even having driven it more than a handful of times, yesterday it showed the dreaded EML light and Adblue fault with service spanner. The dealers can't fit me in for another two weeks! So I have now had two (new to me) diesel cars both of which developed Adblue issues within days of driving them.
I knew nothing about Adblue systems before this and mistakenly thought I would be buying into a better, more modern vehicle - how wrong I was (and not to mention the 7mm cam chain!). My B9 never put a foot wrong in the six years of owning it, and I wish I had researched all this before changing ...
Is it all doom and gloom or are there any success stories?
Also, am I able to drive the car at all while these fault lights are on (they are amber) or will I be doing more harm? Otherwise it's yet another car that will be sitting on my drive waiting for repairs!

Re: Yet another Adblue post
No issues with my C3 Aircross that has just hit 5 years. I Always top my tank up every 2-3 months and ensure the Adblue is pre-mixed with an anti crystallisation additive.
