Hi my zx is a 1992 aura and i would like to know how to remove the gear knob.

I have changed the knob on my xant, several cits and pugs, it goes like this......
Whilst pulling up twist to the left, it will twist in quarter turns and feel like its not coming off, My guess is you have done that already!!!! Keep twisting it will come off eventually takes loads of turns, If your putting an aftermarket one on make sure the screws line up with the crossy bit ( you'll know what i mean when you see it!!![:)]

Be careful tho, I did this on my ZX using the feet on the dash while twisting & pulling method - I very nearly ended up in the back seats when it eventually came off!

so maybe it's true then........ too much pullin n your knob comes off ...[:p] let's hope you don't go blind as well.... [8D]

As stated in first post have done plenty of french g/knobs and we don't like to mention the nose bleed over seats due to it suddenly going!!!!![:)]
