Warning buzzer (beep) location

Unread post by scotcruz »

Hi folks,

Does anyone know the location for the warning beep/buzzer?

I have looked for it in the comms unit, the speedo but it's not there..

Please advise.. it's for Citroen C4 Hatchback 2010

I believe it may be integrated into the comms unit, and is not obvious to locate. I seriously suggest that you consider replacing the comms unit as dismantling this with the clockspring will no doubt cause a world of pain - especially if you have ESP, which will require the steering wheel angle sensor recalibrating.

Its deffo not in the comms unit, no need to worry about clockspring as its in the steering rather than the comms unit for this model.

Want to replace it with the new softer dong one as beeps are annoying.

Control unit under the steering wheel contains the rotary module for the steering wheel angle sensor, so not sure what you are referring to and must be recalibrated if the unit is removed.

The speaker module can be seen here where I have arrowed if I'm not mistaken:

Thanks but this looks like the comms unit from the newer models.. the one I have is a C shape comms unit, not one that pictured.

Best if you pop up the VIN so I know exactly what you have, as a C4 2010 model could be either variation as it was on the cusp of the change to the C4 (B7). Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

However if it's the original older C4, then this will be it with what I believe is the speaker grille on the back arrowed in orange.

So it may be a sound module wired onto the board, as these are not supposed to be serviceable - just the whole unit replaced.

Can confirm thats not the buzzer.. its just some plastic bits for the turn signal.. there is no buzzer on the Comms unit.. search continues.
