Hello,
This morning was trying to open the car with the fob clicker and it didn’t work. Tried opening manually with the key, also didn’t work (tried both keys) the driver door is shut. Red light inside the car keeps blinking.
Called a locksmith and he could not pry the door open by pulling on the interior door handle.
He tested the transponder on the key fob and said the key is sending the signal. I don’t know if the battery is low or not but the red light inside keeps blinking. I didn’t use the car overnight only. Yesterday was working perfectly.
Any ideas anyone?

Strange that it wont open with the key blade in the door lock, is this the same for both door locks (if it has 2)?
Could be a dead battery, as would likley sill flash the LED as the only need milliamps to operate.
I would jack the car up at the front & try to get power into it by connecting on to the main positive cable on the starter or alternator.
Can you get to the bonnet release lever if you wedge the door like the locksmith did?

You have tried replacing battery in the key fob right?
If he measured it with a sniffer next to it it could easily have enough power to transmit, but too weak a signal to reach the receiver in the car.

I haven’t tried replacing the battery in the fob yet. That’s my next step to try a different locksmith to try to release the bonnet lever and then to connect cables to the car battery. Everyone else just says to tow it to their shop. Don’t really want to go through that yet.
I even ordered the locksmith tools to try to open the door myself by maybe trying to pry the passenger door.
Now that I tell locksmiths that someone else tried with no luck, they don’t want to go anymore.

One thing you can try that saved my butt with my Chevy Cruze:
If your car has a removable window trim on the outside you *may* be able to spot the lever that connects to the inside of the handle, which outta open the car even when locked.
On my car the locking mechanism only disconnects that lever from the outside handle, and so I could sneak a string around the lever from the outside and pull up - voilá , door opened.
Will take some fiddling but might work on yours too.

Thanks for that suggestion. Supposedly another locksmith is coming tomorrow who will try to pop the hood open to get to the car battery and put power to see if the battery is dead. I will tell him about the window trim idea also to get the door opened.
If that doesn’t work I will change the fob battery, and if that doesn’t work will tow it to the dealership.
