Newcomer with crank no start

Unread post by kosk »

Greetings, I just recently got myself one of those diesel citroën c3 1.6 hdi from 2007.
It´s been a great car, untill it started throwing some fault codes for the EGR valve, but im on a budget and wanted to postpone that to a bit later.
I drove for about 80km one day, and parked it at home, and the next day it wouldn´t start. I managed to get it to idle at some point, but it stalls soon after, or if i touched the gas pedal it died immediately.
I did an OBD scan, and found several codes, listing them all here and my actions accordingly: -P0193 (high signal) changed the pressure sensor after that with no joy, -P0489 (Control Circuit Low), -P0104 removed and cleaned MAF, P0113 removed and cleaned the IAT sensor, P1351 found a slightly damaged cable to glow plugs down by EGR area, put some electrical tape over it, P1162 Not sure, but think its a EGR that´s stuck open, removed and cleaned inside so it runs smooth.

Also unscrewed one injector hose slightly to see if it even gets fuel to the injectors, no joy.
The rubber primer thingy feels slightly soft after i tried starting several times.
Changed the fuel filter (twice).
Checked the fuel pump fuse (and all other fuses under the hood).
Tried towing and throwing it in gear to start, no joy.
Battery seems healthy, the starter sounds healthy, but it won´t start at all any more, not even idling.
Removed back seat to check if I had some fuel pump in the tank, but just found that unit with that level indicator thingy, so I guess I just have that one high pressure pump,
while reading live data while trying to start, it reads around 33000 FRP kPa (not sure that is the right thing to look at)
MAF reads at like 3-4 g/s while trying to crank.
It´s getting expensive to randomly buy parts to try, so I came here instead where people know their stuff, im so lost in this troubleshooting, not really good at this kind of stuff either, but im learning slowly. Sorry for my lacking skills in this language, I don´t use it that often :)
Appreciate all answers, ideas etc.

Update, replaced the fuel pressure sensor, put in a new EGR, fixed a damaged wire to the glowplugs, and cleaned most of the other sensors. This morning i towed it to my mechanic, which spent half a day looking, and in the end it was the fuel pressure regulator that caused this. Going to let them replace it at no extra cost, but they wanted a lot for the new regulator, so i guess it evens out.
