DipStick End Broke - Stuck In Tube

Hello all, just after a bit of advice and would be massively appreciated.

Pulled dipstick out and the plastic end broke, it didnt fall into the sump and is stuck in the tube - what are my options please? Trying to find a mechanic near me to help is impossible!

Can I use a steel rod to push it through into the sump or will it cause damage on the way and once its in the sump can it stay or do I have to remove? I thought it had already fell out but the new dipstick wont go in. Ive read somewhere that Citroen said to just leave them, as it cannot cause any damage but would like advice on that also please.

If it cannot be pushed through, how easy is it to remove the tube and take it out please or hopefully someone has a trick to help.

If you can push it through into the sump, It wont do any harm, If not drop the sump off and remove bottom section of dipstick tube and remove broken bit. I have done a few, just had a 2.0 hdi apart for other stuff and broken bit was in sump, and recently had a 2005 C4 1.6hdi and the bit would not go round the S shaped section of dipstick tube in sump and I had to remove it to get it out

s**t happens, put a new dipstick in a 2.0hdi 3008 yesterday, pulled it out to check level this morn and about 30mm missing off the end... Think I will try a different brand this week....Good luck with yours

Its a ridiculous design, hopefully able to poke it through just trying to find something to use to do it
